On Monday 25 June, 34 very happy families graduated at Linwood College. They had been in training at Aranui High, Linwood College and Phillipstown Primary schools. This was a very festive occasion, and was well patronized by principals, supporting school staff, whanau and friends. Members of the Steering Group, Geoff Siave, Kose Seinafo and Karaitiana Taiuru, took an active part in leading and supporting the ceremony. Di Das, National CiH Coordinator, was in attendance, as was Member of Parliament, Nicky Wagner, who had supported us in our application to InternetNZ for funding earlier in the year. Tracey Wairau, (Senior Advisor, Parents, Families and Whanau, Ministry of Education), who is an avid supporter of CiH and who regularly refers people to us, was there to support two of her families. Our new techie, Chris Danrell, and Brodie McPhail from The Computer Broker, our new supplier, were both present, and were included in the presentation of certificates. For most of our graduates, it is the first time they had completed a course and received a certificate. Their sense of achievement and pride is written all over their faces, making our graduations a very important stepping stone in their lives.
